The program educational objectives are as follows:

EO2-Career Objective B: Graduates to become managers who can work at middle and lower levels in private and public tourism enterprises specified in the Prospective Student section on our Faculty website,

EO3-Expectations of Graduates: To be entrepreneurs in national and international tourism activity areas.

The classrooms and equipment provide an infrastructure that is sufficient and oriented towards learning in order to achieve the program educational objectives and program outcomes. There are 11 classrooms, one conference hall used for teaching purposes and a Multi-Purpose Hall in the faculty. Classroom planning is made at the beginning of the semester, and in cases where the number of students in the classes is high, correspondence is made with other academic units with larger capacity and the classrooms of these units are used periodically. There are currently 2 micro hotel application rooms, 1 conference hall and 1 meeting hall in the faculty building for the application areas within the scope of the program's education. Although there is no computer laboratory specifically for the program's information technologies and automation courses; the computer laboratory (in the Faculty of Engineering building) that is in common use and affiliated with the Department of Information Processing at the beginning of the relevant education period is used in this context. The two micro hotel application rooms, computer laboratory, conference hall and meeting hall have sufficient facilities in terms of equipment.

Student-centered measurement and evaluation are carried out on the basis of competence and performance, and students' opportunities for self-expression are diversified as much as possible. The continuity of measurement and evaluation is provided by multiple exam opportunities and some process-oriented (formative) methods such as assignments and projects. In the evaluation of students' success, the relevant articles of Dokuz Eylül University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation and Dokuz Eylül University Tourism Faculty Education and Examination Application Principles are applied. The specified regulations and application principles are accessible under the student tab on the faculty web page. A relative grading system is applied in the faculty. Examination methods suitable for course outcomes and education types (formal, distance, mixed) are planned and implemented. Dokuz Eylül University Tourism Faculty Teaching and Exam Application Principles Course grades and success status Article 26, success grade and evaluation of success level Article 27 As stated, attendance to classes is mandatory, and the success grade of a course is determined by taking 40% of the success level shown by the student in the semester studies related to that course and 60% of the grade received in the end-of-term or make-up exam and converting it to the nearest whole number. Students are required to attend 70% of the classes. Midterm exams cover the topics and homework in the course content (40%), final exams (60%) cover all topics in the course content, and students are also responsible for the discussions, applications and case studies in the course. Make-up exams cover all topics in the course content. Midterm, final and make-up exam questions are associated with the course learning outcomes and this information is included in the exam question paper. Student exams can consist of multiple choice tests, classic exams or both multiple choice and open-ended questions. In some courses, mid-term studies (assignments) are among the success evaluation methods (0.20). Assignments are evaluated according to the Rubric created by the faculty member. In courses with skill and talent acquisition goals, there are measurement practices that show that the targeted skill or talent has been acquired. In the faculty, measurement-evaluation approaches are improved based on student and faculty feedback. Focus group interviews were conducted with students, analyzed, and suggestions were developed to implement improvements. Workload calculations were made for each of the theoretical courses in the student's education and training program and published on the web page. In addition, students are informed about the course information package and content in the courses held in the first week according to the academic calendar in the fall and spring semesters. Course information is also shared with students on the SAKAI learning management system used in the faculty. The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the course introduction forms prepared by the relevant faculty members and included in the Information Package. Faculty members use diverse measurement and evaluation methods, involving the preparation of rubrics, diversification of questions in the exam, updating of questions as much as possible, and matching program outcomes and exam questions. Besides, for the Preparatory Class there is an Exam Development Unit at Dokuz Eylül University School of Foreign Languages.

For the supervision of higher education programs;

• YÖK is responsible for the planning, regulation, publication and supervision of education, training and other information in the regulation of higher education.

• According to the framework distributed by YÖK, "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" for the higher education unit offered are published every year. Reports prepared according to these reports, containing good and quality evaluations for higher education institutions, are also shared with the public by YÖK.

Every year, YÖK publishes the "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report", which includes academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

Quality assurance of associate degree programs in higher education is provided according to the "Procedures and Principles for Providing Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Creation and Approval of Curriculum:

1.1.      YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of associate degree departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.2.      The curriculum of associate degree programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each diploma program will bring to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.3.      The curriculum of National Core Education Programs is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of YÖK.

2. Measurement-Evaluation: How to measure and evaluate the learning outcomes that each associate degree program will provide to the student is carried out according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in associate degree programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receives an associate degree.

4. Self-Evaluation-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the "Institution Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. The "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared by YÖKAK regarding the external evaluation of higher education institutions is shared with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also show that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. It carries out regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the YÖKAK legislation.

Dokuz Eylül University has received the Institutional Accreditation Certificate from the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) indicating that it has achieved full accreditation. Within our faculty, studies aimed at developing and improving the quality system in higher education are carried out systematically by establishing the necessary administrative and academic structure in accordance with the quality assurance system of our University.

In addition, the Tourism Faculty Tourism Management Department has been accredited by the Tourism Education and Accreditation Board (TURAK) with a full accreditation decision valid for 3+3, a total of 6 years between 31.12.2024-31.12.2030.

Admission and registration are regulated within the framework of the Higher Education Law and its rules. Students are accepted according to the results of the Transition to Higher Education Exam (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Exam (LYS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Documents required for registration;

The Department of Tourism Management aims to graduate students who have theoretical knowledge and the ability to apply the acquired knowledge in the field; who are able to teamwork and independent work, who can take responsibility, who can communicate effectively, who have the ability to form opinions and discuss in their fields of activity and solve the problems they encounter; who are aware of ethical principles, social responsibility and lifelong learning. Graduates of the Department of Tourism Management can work as professionals, managers and entrepreneurs in public institutions and organizations related to tourism and in the private sector.
