The Sports Management Undergraduate Program aims to train sports managers who possess the skills and competencies required by the 21st century, who have adopted scientific and ethical values in light of global developments, and who are productive, quality-conscious, entrepreneurial, original, self-expressive, respectful to the environment and humanity, open to innovative research, and capable of leadership.

1- To be able to raise young people who are democratic, secular, committed to the values of the Republic of Turkey and who have adopted Atatürk's Principles and Revolutions

2- To be able to train qualified sports managers equipped with professional knowledge related to the field of sports management and who have the competence to apply this knowledge to other disciplines, and who have 21st-century competencies.

3- To be able to develop individual and teamwork skills, to have leadership qualities, to use oral and written communication methods effectively, and to gain the ability to make independent decisions.

4- To be able to train sports managers who understand the management processes in sports organisations based on the conceptual foundations of management sciences, and who can finalise and supervise facilities and activities with a team spirit.

5- To be able to develop alternative and innovative initiatives by analyzing the historical process, current events, and future scenarios in sports organizations from managerial and environmental perspectives, using educational and information technologies.

6- To be able to follow technological developments and apply them to the field, to be able to analyse and interpret sportive phenomena and events in different countries and cultures from a psycho-social perspective.

7- To be able to raise young individuals who embrace the philosophy of universal human rights and Olympism, uphold ethical values within the framework of the Olympic movement and fair play, protect nature and the environment, and contribute positively to their society.

8- To be able to understand scientific research methods and to produce projects, to contribute to science and society with the knowledge obtained and to use a professional foreign language at a sufficient level

9- In line with the disciplines of Law, Marketing, Economics, and Tourism, to be able to analyze, interpret, and develop suggestions regarding the concepts and practices in the fields of sports law, sports marketing, sports tourism, the economic dimensions of sports, public relations, and sponsorship in sports.

10- To be able to examine public institutions and organisations that organise and conduct national and international sports events in terms of their structure, duties, and processes; to work as a volunteer; and to write a comprehensive report.

11- To be able to learn about the psychomotor, physical, and physiological development of the human body; to understand the basic principles of sports nutrition; and to comprehend and enhance the relationship between sports activities and the developmental stages of individuals of all ages, genders, and ability levels.

12- To be able to acquire the necessary skills, game rules, and technical and tactical knowledge at both basic and advanced levels in individual and team sports, and to have the competence to design and implement training plans and programs specific to different sports disciplines.

For exams, measurement and evaluation in this program, the provisions of the relevant article of Manisa Celal Bayar University's Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations given below are applied.

Items 27 -

(1) Exams consist of a midterm exam, final exam, make-up exam, supplementary exam and additional exam at the end of the maximum period.

(2) Exams can be written, oral, both written and oral or practical.

(3) At least one midterm exam is held for each course. Midterm exam dates are determined and announced by the relevant board of directors within the first month of each semester. Apart from midterm exams, quizzes, projects, and other activities deemed appropriate by the instructor can be done. These activities and their impact on the overall grade are outlined by the instructor in the course plan. The contribution of final or make-up exams to the success grade is determined to be at least 40% and at most 60%. In distance education programs, the contribution of the final or make-up exam to the success grade is determined as a maximum of 80%.

(4) A student who does not attend any midterm exam or activity without a justified and valid excuse accepted by the relevant unit board of directors is considered to have received zero (0) point in that midterm exam or activity.

(5) Students with justified and valid excuses accepted by the board of directors of the relevant unit are given the right to take make-up exams for the midterm exams they could not take. The exams taken by the students whose excuses are accepted during the excuse periods are cancelled.

(6) Exam results are announced within one week of the date of the exam.

(7) (Change: RG-31/7/2022-31909) Courses for which midterm exams and/or final and make-up exams will not be held due to the characteristics of the course or the education and training applied are decided by the board of directors of the unit upon the proposal of the relevant department board, within two weeks at the latest from the beginning of the relevant semester. The final course grade is determined by considering the student's performance throughout the semester.

(8) All kinds of exam documents are delivered to the relevant department by the instructor at the end of the relevant semester and kept for five years.

(9) Students who are eligible but miss the final exam, as well as those who take the make-up exam to improve a passing or conditional grade, will have their course grade calculated based on the make-up exam result.

(10) Students are not entitled to a make-up exam for the final, make-up, excuse, additional, or end-of-maximum-period exams.

(11) (Change: RG-31/7/2022-31909) If a student is found to have cheated, assisted in cheating, or attempted to cheat during the exam or the evaluation of the exam paper, an official report is prepared, and the exam grade is recorded as 0 (zero) in the system. The student about whom a report is issued is treated according to the provisions of the Student Discipline Regulation of Higher Education Institutions. The exam grade of the student who is not penalised as a result of the investigation is processed.

(12) ( Appendix: RG-31/7/2022-31909) In cases where it is not possible to make changes in the exam schedule for the courses with overlapping exams on the same day and time, students are given the right to make-up exams for the midterm exams they could not take. Students who want to take advantage of this right must apply to the relevant unit with a petition within five working days at the latest.

(13) (Addition: RG-31/7/2022-31909) Attendance conditions, exam practices, passing conditions and summer school conditions of project/design and similar courses can be determined by the procedures and principles to be regulated by the relevant unit boards.

Success grade evaluations

Items 28 - (1) In undergraduate and associate degree education, a student's success in a course is determined by the relative evaluation method. This evaluation is based on a combination of the student’s performance during the semester and their grade on the final or make-up exam, while also considering the overall success level of the class. The course instructor performs a relative evaluation based on the distribution of student grades and the overall class average. The principles of the relative evaluation system are determined separately by the Senate.

(2) The success grades, coefficients, definitions and the principles regarding these grades are as follows:

c) During the registration renewal process, the courses that students enrol in are expressed directly with DE grade as the first value. The DE grade is valid for the semester/year until a letter grade is given by the instructor of the course. At this stage, the DE grade is not included in the total credit and GPA calculation.

c) Grade E is given to students who have been successful in projects, graduation studies, directed studies and similar studies during the semester due to illness or another valid reason, but cannot complete the necessary conditions for the course. If a student receives a grade of E in any course, the student completes the deficiencies within fifteen days and receive a grade. Otherwise, an E grade is converted to an FF or K grade ex officio.

d) Grade G is given to students who are successful in courses that are not included in the average.

e) The grade of M is given to students who are exempted from the courses that the students were previously exempted from and did not participate in the average, and students who are exempted from the courses removed from the program by the board of directors of the relevant unit, and students whose disability status and degree have been documented with a medical report and who are accepted by the board of directors of the relevant unit that this disability will pose a problem in the successful execution of the relevant course.

f) K grade is given to students who fail the courses that are not included in the average.

g) Grades DE, E, G, M, and K are not included in the calculation of the grade point average. The grade 'DZ' is assigned to students who fail to meet attendance requirements. DZ is treated like an FF grade in grade point average calculation.

ğ) AA, BA, BB, CB, CC, G, and M are classified as successful letter grades.

h) DC and DD are conditionally successful letter grades. Students with a GPA of at least 2.00 are also considered successful in the courses in which they receive DC and DD grades. Students who have no failed courses, but whose GPA is below 2.00, must first retake their DC and DD courses and raise their GPA above 2.00 in order to graduate.

ı) FD, FF, DZ, and K are failed letter grades.

i) I grade is not included in the grade point average calculation.

MCBU operates a TS EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) for documented information and relevant evidence that is a guide for unaccredited programs and contributes to the preparation process for program accreditation. At this point, within the scope of the YOKAK Institutional Accreditation Program, MCBU has established a quality policy that focuses on process-oriented and continuous improvement activities based on the satisfaction of internal and external stakeholders by operating the PDCA process with QMS standard items that are compatible with Institutional External Evaluation and Accreditation Criteria.

The Sports Management Program has been accredited by the Sports Sciences Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Board (SPORAK) for 5 (Five) years between 29.04.2025 - 29.04.2030.

The Sports Management Program admits students through the Central Special Talent Examination (ÖZYES). As of the 2025–2026 academic year, the program admits students through central placement via the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS).

Graduates of the program achieve sufficient scores in the ALES, language proficiency exam, scientific exam, and interview in order to be eligible for admission to graduate studies. They may apply to master's, doctoral, or proficiency in arts programs in fields that accept graduates from this program.
