Key Learning Outcomes;

Graduates of the programs will be able to;

1. Examine, analyse and interpret performances and performing arts events equipped with the knowledge of arts, culture and social sciences.
2. Analyse the international performing arts scene in terms of its arts practices and policies and recognise local and national developments in the field.
3. Practice technological developments in the world such as dramatic and performative multimedia techniques by adapting them to the concept and the content of their projects.
4. Setup a certain division of labor in management/performance; criticize working practices on a local scale for work sharing, appropriate funds, providing the artists with financial resources/insurance.
5. Apply the analytical reading practices and methods of criticism they use to discuss the canonical works in the performing arts history to their own projects as well.
6. Foresee and solve possible issues that might arise during the phases of performance,production,legal issues and touring for all kinds of performing arts projects and events.
7. Design their projects/events by the proper use of their knowledge of body, space, improvisation, directing, dramatic writing techniques; sound-lighting, managerial-organizational and legal know-how.

Supplementary Learning Outcomes;

Graduates of the programs will be able to;

1. Manage and formulate the collaborations with local and international agents (both creative and bureaucratic) of the industry on project-based performing arts tasks.

(1) High School Diploma (2) Placement through a nation-wide Student Selection and Placement Examinations (3) Successful completion of special skills test (4) Certificate of Istanbul Bilgi University English Language Exam (BILET) or acceptable score of TOEFL or similar internationally recognised exams (5) For graduates of short-cycle degree programmes from the same or related fields of studies of vocational schools (MYOs), placement through a nation-wide Vertical Transfer Examination (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı) (6) For foreign students, placement by direct applications of candidates to the university and assessment by the university within the frameworks of the publicly available national and institutional regulations published on the university’s web site.

Students initiate their own projects while they continue their studies, and with the help of the theoretical and practical knowledge they receive, they transform these projects into viable businesses and embark on their careers as producers in the field of performing arts. Others, following a foundational training on performing and visual arts, choose to further their career as actors, dancers, performance artists or directors. In addition to these, some graduates also go on to realize projects within transnational institutions or contribute to the field by producing academic work that open the policies formed or implemented by these institutions to critical debate.
