Key Learning Outcomes;

Graduates of the programs will be able to;

1. set-up 1:1 scaled design prototypes by conducting a research in contemporary design knowledge, representation potentials, materials and high-end design-execution technologies.
2. design buildings and open spaces, considering its consequences on built and natural environment, cultural heritage and rights of citizens.
3. recognize the laws, regulations, codes, natural hazards, conventions and standards in their field.
4. design place-conscious projects by interpreting the physical, historical, cultural, social, economical, ideological and philosophical relationships of the building with its context.
5. associate the academic/theoretical knowledge and professional fields of architecture, with the perspective of critical thinking.
6. design adaptive reuse and transformation projects in historically significant and conserved environments; considering their historical qualities.
7. analyze buildings and their sub-systems within the context of environmental factors, sustainability principles, user requirements and function of the buildings.

Supplementary Learning Outcomes;

Graduates of the programs will be able to;

1. develop awareness of their potential to create value and make difference in all the environments they are in.
2. develop capability on collaboration and dialogue with diverse areas of expertises.
3. value life-long learning, questioning knowledge and research.
4. have a sense of social responsibility for the betterment of the life quality of disadvantaged people and built environments.
5. develop skills to diagnose and define the problems in their environment, and to propose solutions.
6. acquire ethic values regarding design, fabrication, and the use of digital and printed media.
7. read and write in Turkish and in English, to follow the relevant publications in architecture and relevant fields.

(1) High School Diploma (2) Placement through a nation-wide Student Selection and Placement Examinations (3) Certificate of Istanbul Bilgi University English Language Exam (BILET) or acceptable score of TOEFL or similar internationally recognised exams (4) For graduates of short-cycle degree programmes from the same or related fields of studies of vocational schools (MYOs), placement through a nation-wide Vertical Transfer Examination (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı) (5) For foreign students, placement by direct applications of candidates to the university and assessment by the university within the frameworks of the publicly available national and institutional regulations published on the university’s web site

Aside from working for architecture offices or starting one, architects may work in various lines of works: in project development and project management in real estate and construction companies, in site offices, in construction material companies, for government, municipalities and in public service, and in related fields of publication.

Qualification is valid indefinitely.
