- Mimarlık ile ilgili kültürel, teknik vb. gelişmeleri uygun bilimsel yöntemleri kullanarak çok yönlü tanır, yorumlar, değerlendirir ve özgün ihtiyaçlara göre yöntem geliştirir.
- Kuramsal bilgiyi kullanma, örnekler üzerinden yorumlama ve kavramsallaştırma yeterliğini geliştirir.
- Mimarlık tarihi, kuramı ve eleştirisi içerisindeki temel metinlerin yanı sıra uzmanlık alanlarına ilişkin bilimsel kaynakları tanır ve bu kaynaklara referansla eleştirel düşünme becerisini geliştirir.
- Mimarlık disiplini ve bilgisinin felsefe ile ilişkisini tarihsel arka planlarını da kavrayarak değerlendirir, felsefenin epistemoloji, estetik vb. ilgi alanlarının mimarlık ile ilişkisini kurar.
- Bilimsel literatürü araştırma, kaynaklara ulaşma, bilimsel etik standartları çerçevesinde değerlendirme yeterliklerini geliştirir.
- Okuduğu bir bilimsel metni ana fikri, yöntemi vb. bileşenlerine ayırarak çözümleme yeterliğini geliştirir.
- Ana fikir ve destekleyici fikirler doğrultusunda bir bilimsel metni bilimsel yöntemlere uygun olarak oluşturma yeterliğini geliştirir.
- Mimarlık eğitimine eleştirel bakabilme ve çözüm getirme yeterliğini kazanır.
