To check whether the attendance of the student during the term or whole year is enough, lecturer takes into account the overall hours of related course. For any valid excuses made by the student, not to take exam, according to the decision of faculty student can take make-up exam. The exams for each course are organized as midterm, final and make-up exams. Exam dates are announced by the department and it has to be announced at least one week before exam dates. Midterms are organized at least one time and on the tenth week of the education year. Lecturers are free to announce more than one midterm in each term. Moreover, projects, homework and quiz may be organized for students in addition to the midterms and final exam. Midterms have %40 effect on the average score of related course. Final exams are performed in two week following end of the term. Final exam has %60 effect on the average score of related course. All exams are evaluated in a scale between 0 and 100. Students can pass any course if their score is 60 or more in final exam or make-up exam and if their average score of related course is 60 and more. | Conditions for Success | To graduate students who are studying in the field of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, students must at least 60 points from your compulsory and elective courses in the program and must have the average of general note that is at least 60 points out of 100 points. The minimum ECTS required for graduation is 240. It is compulsory for the students to complete their inturnship (50 days) in a specified time. Student’s inturnship and his / her successful grade must be succeed. There is no final examination or examination period at the end of an academic year, or at the end of the study program. There is, however, a final examination and examination periods, i.e., normally takes two weeks and starts immediately after at the end of each semester. Student is expected to have a successful completion of internship (50 working days) in industry before graduation. Internship is not credited in the program though it is prerequisite for the graduation. However, the competences gained and workload needed with internship is ensured with the relevant courses content, practice and workload in the program. In addition to that student is required to complete a degree project and final year dissertation, (taken normally in 8th semester), which follows an oral presentation. | |
