Conditions for Success | Graduated students can work in various coal and metal mines, mineral processing and enrichment plants, cement industry, various transportation tunnels, dimension stone and marble quarries, sand and gravel quarries, ceramic industry and engineering consultancy firms which are specialized in projects and feasibility studies. The students who have successfully completed a minimum of 21 local credits (equivalant to 60 ECTS credits) from thought courses delivered within the graduate programme of the department and in related fields, and prepared and successfully defended a thesis are given Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D) in MINING ENGINEERING. | |
Progression Paths (Relationship Type) | The graduates of the Mining Engineering Department has many opportunities of employment in a varitey of state and private companies. The main state companies where they can work include Turkish Coal, ETI Mine Works, the State Water Works, General Directorate of Motorways, Mineral Research and Exploration Institute, Turkish Petroleum and municipalities. Currently, majority of the graduates find jobs in private sector engaged mainly in surface and underground companies as well construction companies working on tunnels, roadworks and dams.
