The Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program, which has a 2-year education period, includes general culture courses as well as basic science courses such as Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology. Vocational courses include Epidemic Diseases and Zoonoses, Herd Health and Management, Laboratory Animal Breeding, Cattle Breeding, Birth Information and Artificial Insemination, Small Cattle Breeding, Internal Medicine, Feed Information and Animal Nutrition. Professional development, social and cultural development are supported with elective courses included in the curriculum. Practices during the semester are carried out in cattle and sheep enterprises approved by the program directorate. Students take basic English courses in the 1st and 2nd semesters. Students take the Veterinary Services Legislation and Ethics course in the 4th Term and are trained as individuals who strictly adhere to deontological rules, respect patient rights, and have the mental and physical competence to fulfill their duties at all times and under all circumstances.

Learning takes place in the form of formal and distance education. Moreover; Practical training is provided in the laboratory within the vocational school, in enterprises and in internship-related areas.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

• Knowing animal species, breeds, structural and functional basic features and achieving the competence to raise at least one of them.
• Interpret animals' vital signs and administer basic first aid when necessary
• Applying asepsis, antisepsis and care techniques to animals in the pre-operative and post-operative periods

Exams are measured out of 100 points. Midterm and final exam results of a course are shown with numerical scores. The score for exams that the student does not take is zero.

The contribution of mid-term evaluations to the success grade is 40%, and the contribution of the final exam is 60%.

When calculating mid-term evaluations, the contribution of the points received from each midterm exam, homework and similar activities at the rate determined before the start of classes is determined without increasing half-half numbers to integers; their sum or arithmetic mean is found. The half number found in this way is increased to a whole number. In this way, the midterm score is calculated.

The raw success score is calculated by adding 40% of the average score of the mid-term evaluations to 60% of the final exam score. In calculating these ratios, fractions are preserved as they are, but in calculating the raw success score, half-half numbers are rounded up to whole numbers. In order to be considered successful in a course, the passing grade must be at least a "CC" letter grade. The student's success grade in a course is converted into a letter success grade and success coefficient with the absolute evaluation system (MDS) of the units as follows:

Conversion of grades to the 100-point system is determined according to the YÖK grade conversion table.

The grades of the courses taken by the students in their previous education, for which the relevant unit is granted exemption, are shown on the transcript and are taken into account in the overall weighted grade point average.

The quality assurance of associate degree programs in higher education is provided according to the “Procedures and Principles for Providing Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs”. These are:

1. Creation and Approval of Curriculum:

-YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for opening associate degree departments and programs in higher education institutions.

-The curriculum of associate degree programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each diploma program will provide to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

-The curriculum of National Core Education Programs is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of YÖK.

2. Measurement-Evaluation: How to measure and evaluate the learning outcomes that each associate degree program will provide to the student is carried out according to the education and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in associate degree programs receive an associate degree diploma if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the “Internal Institutional Evaluation Reports” of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the “Institutional Feedback Report” prepared by the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public.

In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation institutions authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also show that the quality assurance of the program qualifications is provided. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

Quality assurance of the program is provided in accordance with the quality standards defined by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK). The program goes through regular accreditation and internal/external evaluation processes.

Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program is accredited by MEDEK. MEDEK regularly evaluates the program's quality standards and compliance with internationally recognized criteria. This accreditation guarantees the program's educational quality, continuous improvement processes and the professional competence of its graduates.

The diploma is always valid. In addition, as a result of the evaluation made by MEDEK, Vocational Education Accreditation Board, the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program has been Fully Accredited, valid between 01.01.2025 - 31.12.2028.

1. To have graduated from secondary education institutions or foreign secondary education institutions whose equivalence is approved by the Ministry of National Education and to have met the conditions for admission to associate degree programs of higher education institutions.

2. Being placed in the relevant associate degree program of the higher education institution as a result of the central examination conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), the procedures and principles of which are determined by YÖK.

Students who graduate from vocational associate degree programs can transfer vertically to their undergraduate programs as a result of the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM. Vertical transfer quotas are determined by the decision of YÖK, not to exceed ten percent of the quota determined in the relevant undergraduate programs.

The program is carried out in accordance with the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and the legislation determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Additionally, it is structured in accordance with quality standards within the framework of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Regulation.

The qualification is valid at all times.
