Quality Assurance | To oversee the quality of higher education programs; - YÖK is responsible for the planning, organization, management and supervision of education and training and other activities carried out in higher education institutions. - “University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” of higher education institutions are published every year within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. - Every year, YÖK publishes the “Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report”, which includes academic, administrative and financial data on foundation higher education institutions. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the “Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs”: 1. Creation and Approval of Curricula: 1.1. YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions. 1.2. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues. 1.3. After the curriculum of the National Core Curriculum is accepted by the relevant Council of Deans, it is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of YÖK. 2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the education and training and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK. 3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs receive an undergraduate diploma upon successful completion of course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions. 4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: Higher education institutions, in the context of continuous monitoring, enter the “Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports” of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the “Institutional Feedback Report” prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation. | |

Assessment of Success for Associate's and Bachelor's Degree Students
(1) Provisions regarding assessment of success are as follows:
a) In assessing a student’s performance in a course, the grade the student has scored during the semester work over a hundred and the grade the student has scored at the end of the semester over a hundred are taken into consideration.
b) In measuring success, the weight of the grade during the semester is 60% and the weight of the final exam is 40%.
c) For the grade during the semester, the students are subject to visas and assignments (homework, projects, quizzes, seminars, presentations, laboratory work, filed study, reports and other relevant practices or a second visa).
d) What the content and weight of more than one work during the semester will be is evaluated within the 60% and announced to the students during the first few weeks of the semester.
e) Visas are not compulsory in projects, design courses for projects, seminars and such. The final exam could be in the form of an exam, interview and of that kind.
Achievement Grade
(1) Achievement Grade is designated as follows:
a) Achievement in a course during the undergraduate program is determined by the Relative Evaluation method. The student’s performance during the term and his final exam grade at the end of the term are evaluated together.
b) The meanings of the achievement grades are defined as follows:
Achievement Grade Coefficient Achievement Degree
AA 4.00 Excellent
BA 3.50 Very good
BB 3.00 Good
CB 2.50 Average
CC 2.00 Satisfactory
DC 1.50 Provisionally Successful
DD 1.00 Fail
FD 0.50 Fail
FF 0.00 Fail
F0 0.00 NA
G: Pass
K: Fail
İ: Leave of Absence
M: Exemption
E: Incomplete
c) Letter grades used as achievement grades are as follows:
1) (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) indicate that the student has been successful in a course.
2) DC indicates that the student has been conditionally successful in a course. For a student to be qualified as successful with a DC grade, the CGPA of the student should be at least 2.00. In order for a student, who has conditionally successful course(s) in the instructional plan, to be eligible for graduation, the CGPA of the student should be at least 2.00. DC is calculated in the cumulative average.
3) DD, FD, and FF indicate that the student has failed a course. These grades are calculated in the CGPA.
4) F0 indicates failure due to non-attendance. F0 is calculated in the CGPA.
5) G (pass) indicates that the student has passed a course. G is not calculated in the CGPA.
6) K (fail) indicates that the student has failed a course. K is not calculated in the CGPA.
7) İ (temporary leave) indicates the status of a student, who has been unable to meet the requirements of a course, because of a temporary leave taken in accordance with the relevant article of the Regulation. İ is not calculated in the CGPA until it is turns into an achievement grade. If this course is not completed in the first semester when the course is available, İ is automatically converted to FF.
To oversee the quality of higher education programs;
- YÖK is responsible for the planning, organization, management and supervision of education and training and other activities carried out in higher education institutions.
Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the “Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs”:
1. Creation and Approval of Curricula:
