- Uzmanlaştığı alandaki mevcut teorik ve uygulamalı bilgiye derinlemesine vakıf olması ve bu alanda özgün sorular üretebilmesi.
- Uzmanlaştığı alanla ilgili bakış açısını geliştirmek üzere disiplinler arası etkileşimin gerekliliğini kavraması.
- Uzmanlaştığı alanda özgün bir soruyu cevaplamak üzere bir araştırma planlayıp yürütebilmesi.
- Bilimsel nitelikli bir rapor yazabilmesi ve sözlü olarak sunabilmesi.
- Uzmanlığını kazandığı alanın mesleki yeterlilik ve sınırlarının bilincinde olması.
- Uzmanlaştığı alanın test, değerlendirme vb. teknik ve yöntemlerini kullanması.
- Uzmanlaştığı alanın etik kurallarına uygun davranması ve etik ihlallere karşı duyarlı davranması.
