• Provides training in the practical skills required in a chemical laboratory including experimentation, data collection, analysis of the experimental results, and finding solution for the problems that are faced.
• Provides ability to know modern tecniques, to choose and operate suitable instruments.
• Provides a knowledge to serach the literature, database and the other information sources.
• Provides ability to follow scientific and technological developments.
• Gives ability to present a scientefic topic.
• Provides knowledge on hardware and software required in chemistry.
• Provides an ability of interdiciplinary work.
• Gives an ability on qualitative and quantitave analysis and characterization of searched materials.
• Provides knowledge on right and efficient usage of chemicals and equipment used in labratory.
• Provides the ability of evaluation and present the experimental measurements and observations.
• Provides the knowledge of a foreign language to follow the literature, and to make verbal and written communication.
• Provides the knowledge on chemical terms,sources,rules and units.
• Provides scientific ethics on data collection, evaluation and presentaion stage of results.

Students are taken for mid-term and final exams. Midterm exam is not compulsory.Students are required to attend 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of practical courses in order to be able to take the final exam.Final exams are conducted by the University at the times determined and announced each year. The final grade in the final exam is at least 65 for the masters degree and at least 75 points for the PhD. The contribution of the midterm exam is 30%. The grade is 65 for the masters degree and 75 for the PhD.Students who have the right to take the final exam of the course they have registered in the relevant semester or who are not successful or who are not successful, are taken to make a make-up exam.Make-up exam result counts instead of final exam result.The Masters program with thesis consists of at least eight courses, one seminar course and a thesis study, not less than twenty-four credits. Seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. Masters program with thesis consists of at least 120 ECTS credits, including at least eight courses and thesis work, including seminar courses, not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic year. The student must register for the dissertation period at the latest every semester after the appointment of the consultant.

Students may be accepted for master studies upon a successful completion of the undergraduate programme, provided they comply with the legal and academic requirements, mentioned below and others, to access the master studies in Inonu University according to the process established by Natural Science Intuitions regulations:

1 - Undergraduate diploma,

2 - Obtaining the required grade from Academic Graduate Education Exam (AGEE),

3 - Obtaining the required grade from one of the following exams: Inter-Universities Committee Language Exam (ICLE), Public Personnel Language Exam (PPLE), TOEFL and IELTS. The required grades for the exams and any other exceptional condition are determined and declared by the Institution. Students who have started studies in other universities within or outside of the country may apply for their recognition. The recognition record is unique for each student and therefore the procedure is carried out accordingly before the start of each academic year. More information about general admission requirements can be found in the catalogue of Information on the Institution.Under an established exchanges program or one approved by the University, exchange students from abroad may be accepted for studies on the courses taught in English. Or, if they are confident in Turkish, they may then enroll any courses, running in Turkish, shown on the Course Structure diagram.

Students who graduate from the chemistry department, take the title of master of science chemist. With this title, Textile industry, Pharmaceutical sector, Food production and analysis sector, Paper industry, Glass factories, Rubber and rubber factories, Cement factories, Paper mills, Sugar factories, Paint factories, Fertilizer factories, Soil sector, Cosmetics and cleaning sector Energy sector, Petroleum sector, Automotive factories, Metal sector, Leather sector, Shipyards, Textile industry, Petrochemicals, Health sector, Mining sector, Construction sector, etc. work as a chemist in sectors. They can also conduct academic research.
