Program Profile The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Education program is an academically focused program that provides access to degree and non-degree research and professional practice that requires a high level of knowledge and skills. The classification of the program in relation to "ISCED (International Standard Classification of Education) 2011" and "NQF-HETR (Turkish Qualification Framework for HE") and codes of education fields can be listed as follows; - ISCED Field of Education: 14 - Teacher Education and Educational Sciences - ISCED 2011 Level: 6, Orientation (Profile): 64, Subcategory: 645 - Academically focused "first cycle", bachelor's degree. An average of 20 students are enrolled in this program, which has been training chemistry teachers since the 2016-2017 academic year. The program is a 4-year undergraduate program. The aim of the program is to train qualified teachers who love nature, science, technology and people, are aware of the importance of the teaching profession, and have adopted lifelong learning as a principle.

Students are subjected to a final exam in addition to the exams they have previously taken or the studies they have done. Every semester, students are given at least one midterm exam. Apart from midterm exams, quizzes can be held without a date. The criteria to be taken into account in the success evaluation of the courses (such as midterm exam, homework, final exam, etc.) and their rates are stated in the curriculum programs and course syllabus distributed to students at the beginning of the semester or published on the website. Final exams are held on the dates announced by the University, at the specified place and time. Students' final grades at the end of the semester; It is given by the instructor responsible for the course, according to the midterm and final exam grades, the studies carried out during the semester and the course attendance rules. Courses for which midterm and/or final exams will not be held are determined by the relevant department chairs and college directorates and forwarded to the Registrar's Office, and the end-of-term success grades for these courses are determined according to the studies carried out by the students throughout the semester. End of term success grades, together with success evaluation criteria, are delivered to the Registrar's Office by the relevant instructor. Grading principles and success conditions for students who entered in 2017 and earlier years and in 2018 and subsequent years; In determining the success grade a student receives from a course, the level of success he/she shows in the year/semester studies for that course, the grade point average of the midterm exams and the grade he/she receives at the end of the year/semester are evaluated together. If the relevant faculty member deems it appropriate, he/she may evaluate homework, laboratory and similar course-related studies and announced quizzes separately or as a single midterm exam in addition to the midterm exams or midterm exams. However, in order to be considered successful in a course; It is necessary to get a score of at least 50 out of 100 in the semester, final exam or make-up exam (letter equivalent to CC). The effect of the midterm exam grade on the success grade is 40%, and the final/make-up exam score is 60%. Evaluations are made as pass or fail in common compulsory courses such as Turkish Language, Ataturk's Principles and History of Revolution. Faculty members evaluate each student enrolled in their courses using the success evaluation method in line with Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training and Examination Regulations and assign one of the following success grades as the student's course success grade. AA, BA, BB, CB and CC grades indicate that the course has been successful; DC and DD grades indicate that this course has been succeeded if the success conditions based on the weighted grade point average specified in this Regulation are met. F grade is appreciated for unsuccessful students. Course Repeat When the student does not meet the minimum attendance requirement for a course; If the student does not get at least 50 points from the final exam and the course average is less than 50 points, the student must repeat that course. Probation students who fail a course by receiving one of the grades F, BZ, or DZ must take that course in the first semester it is offered. Students who want to increase their grade point average can re-enroll in the courses they have chosen among the courses they have previously taken and repeat these courses. Attendance is not required for repeating a course. Students on probation can repeat the courses they have previously taken (DD) and (DC) if they wish. In this case, GPA must be at least 2.00. There are no prerequisites for repeated courses. In repeated courses, the last grade will be valid, regardless of the previous success grade.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

- YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.

- “University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

- “Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report” containing academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions is published annually by CoHE. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the “Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs”:

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula: YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.2. The curricula of the National Core Curricula are adopted by the relevant Council of Deans and implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receive a bachelor's diploma.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: Higher education institutions, in the context of continuous monitoring, enter the “Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports” of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year.

YÖKAK shares the “Institutional Feedback Report” prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

Students are admitted through a central entrance exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in Chemistry Education graduate programs. They can also work as Chemistry Teachers in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, private schools and various courses.
