The purpose of the Occupational Health and Safety Program is to train Occupational Health and Safety Technicians who have the necessary knowledge, skills and equipment to protect the health and safety of employees in public and private sector organizations and to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases, who are committed to professional ethical values, who are familiar with the legislation and who can play an active role in field practices.

Education and training is carried out in the form of formal education. In addition, applied trainings are carried out.

• Has knowledge about occupational health and safety, environmental awareness and quality processes.
• Follows current developments and applications for his/her profession and uses them effectively.
• Effectively uses information technologies (software, program, animation etc.) related to his/her profession.

• Can effectively present his/her thoughts through written and verbal communication at the level of knowledge and skills and express them in an understandable manner.

In order to ascertain the means by which the educational objectives of the programme are to be achieved, reference is made to the Inonu University Examination Directive and Inonu University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations. The measurement and evaluation method applied for each course is defined in detail in the Course Teaching Plan, and the student's success grade is determined by adding 40% of the midterm exam score and 60% of the final grade.

1. The calculation of course success grade is made according to the following principles:

1. The application principles of the relative evaluation system are determined by the relevant boards and decided by the Senate.
2. The raw success grade is calculated by adding 40% of the midterm exam grade and 60% of the midterm/year end exam grade.
3. The following limits are taken as basis in the relative evaluation system:

1. The lower limit of the raw success grade is the threshold value of the success grade that the student must receive out of 100 full points. This grade is a minimum of 40 points for all units providing education at the associate and undergraduate levels. This limit may be increased by the Senate.

       2. In order for a student to pass a course conditionally or directly, they must receive at least 50 points out of 100 on the midterm/yearly exam, regardless of their midterm/yearly grade point average. This limit may be increased by the Senate. Students who do not take the midterm/yearly exams or who receive a score below this limit are deemed to have failed by receiving an F2 letter grade

         2. The course success grade ranges and equivalents used in the college are shown below:

1. A student who receives one of the grades A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2 and C3 from a course is considered to have passed that course.
2. A student who receives one of the grades D1, D2 and D3 from a course is considered to have conditionally passed that course.
3. A student who receives grades F1 and F2 from a course is considered to have failed that course.

A student who receives grade F3 from a course is considered to be absent.

           3. The meanings of letters other than the success grade letters are as follows:

1. F1, F2, YZ and GR grades are considered as failing, F3 as absent.
2. The upper limit of the F1 grade is the lower limit of the raw success grade determined by the Senate for the relevant unit.
3. GR, YT and YZ letter grades are defined as follows:

Exam not taken grade (GR); is the grade given to a student who did not take the midterm/end-of-year exam without considering their midterm exam grades and midterm/year work. A student who receives a GR grade is considered to have failed that course. The GR grade is included in the general grade point average.

The sufficient grade (YT); is given as a success grade for non-credit courses.

The insufficient grade (YZ); is given as a failure grade for non-credit courses.

            4. The grades of students who transfer to the University from other universities where the 100 grade system is applied are converted according to the principles determined by the Senate.

            5. A student who is proven to have cheated will receive a zero from the course he/she cheated in.

To monitor the quality of higher education programmes;

• The Council of Higher Education (CoHE) is responsible for the planning, organisation, management and supervision of education and training, as well as other activities, in higher education institutions.
• The 'University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports' of higher education institutions are prepared within the framework of the criteria determined by CoHE, and published on an annual basis. The reports, which are prepared according to these criteria and which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are disseminated to the public by CoHE.

The 'Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report', which encompasses academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions, is published on an annual basis by CoHE. These reports, which include quantitative and

• The 'Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programmes' serve to ensure the quality assurance of undergraduate programmes in higher education.

1. Creation and Approval of Curriculum: The Council of Higher Education determines the minimum standards and criteria required for opening undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to students are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on these issues.

1.2. The curriculum of the National Core Curriculum is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education after being approved by the relevant Deans' Council.

2. Measurement and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes that each undergraduate program will provide to students is carried out in accordance with the education and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs receive a bachelor's degree if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by the higher education institutions.

4. Self-Assessment-External Assessment: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the “Internal Institutional Assessment Reports” of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the “Institutional Feedback Report” prepared for the external assessment of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation institutions authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also show that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is provided. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with its legislation.

Student quotas are proposed by the units and reported to the Council of Higher Education and determined by the Council of Higher Education. Student admissions to the program are made within the quotas according to the results of the Higher Education Entrance Exam conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), and the preference and placement procedures are carried out by ÖSYM. While the placement procedures of the students to the university are carried out by ÖSYM in line with their preferences, the registrations are made through the e-Government system or by the unit student affairs. The main criteria regarding the mentioned systems are determined by the Council of Higher Education. Clear and consistent criteria are applied in all processes regarding the acceptance of students in the program. Students are also admitted to the program through Horizontal Transfer within the framework of the criteria of the Council of Higher Education. Foreign students are accepted through the International Student Selection Exam (İNÜYÖS).

Occupational Health and Safety Program graduates can continue their education by transferring to the following undergraduate programs with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS):

• Occupational Health and Safety

• Emergency Aid and Disaster Management

• Environmental Engineering

• Public Administration

• Health Management

• Social Service

• Nursing (with special conditions at some universities)

In addition, graduates can gain professional experience by being employed as technical personnel in various public institutions and private sector organizations and can progress to become Class B and then Class A Occupational Safety Specialists by specializing in their fields.
