YEDİTEPE UNIVERSITY A UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION AND TRAINING REGULATION

ARTICLE 37 – (1) (Amended O.G. 22.08.2016/29809 p.) Quizzes, midterm exams and final exams are held to evaluate students in the courses given at the faculties and colleges of the university.

(2) At the beginning of the semester, the instructor of each course informs the students in writing about the weight of the midterm exams, final exams, homework, practice and other studies for which the students are responsible, in the semester grade. The weight of mid-term exams and other studies in the semester grade cannot be less than 30% and more than 70%.

ARTICLE 42 – (1) For each course they take, students are given a letter grade as a success grade by the relevant instructor, taking into account the practical, laboratory and similar studies, exams and academic activities during the semester.

(3) Additionally, the following abbreviations are used depending on the students' situation:

a) I-Incomplete: It is given to students who cannot complete the required work for the course due to valid excuses. These students must complete the deficiencies required for grade I by the end of the add/drop date of the following semester at the latest; Upon completion of the deficiencies, the student receives the required grade. If the deficiencies are not completed by this date, the student's I grade automatically turns into an FF grade.

b) L-Leave: It is used for students who are on leave in accordance with the provisions of this Regulation.

c) NC-Non-Credit: Used for courses taken without credit.

ç) ND-Non-Degree: It is used for courses taken with or without credit that are not intended to receive a diploma from Yeditepe University and are not included in the GPA calculation.

d) P-Pass: It is given to students who are successful in courses that are not included in their grade point average.

e) R-Repeat: Indicates that the lesson has been repeated.

f) RR-Repeat Resigned: It is given for courses that are repeated in order to increase the grade.

T-Transfer (Transfer): It is given for courses transferred from a program within or outside a higher education institution or courses taken from foreign exchange programs and passed and whose adaptation is approved by the relevant board of directors and grades are given. is included in the average calculation.

g) W-Withdrawal: It takes place every year after the course add/drop date, within the period specified in the academic calendar, with the approval of the advisor.

h) X-In Progress for Projects and Theses: It is given to students who are continuing their projects, theses and similar studies.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

- YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.

- "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

- "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report" containing academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions is published annually by CoHE. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the "Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula: YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.2. The curricula of the National Core Curricula are adopted by the relevant Council of Deans and implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receive a bachelor's diploma.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: Higher education institutions, in the context of continuous monitoring, enter the "Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

The student who wants to enroll in the department must complete the processes / pass the exams determined by ÖSYM within the framework of the academic and legal legislation of the university. A student who has started his/her education in an equivalent program at home or abroad can apply for horizontal transfer. Students' applications are examined and evaluated individually before the start of the semester, taking into account each student's conditions and the degree to which they have applied. Within the scope of student exchange programs approved by the university and whose conditions are determined by an agreement, students from abroad can take courses within the program. They can take courses taught in English. The student taking the course must have taken the prerequisite courses or their equivalents. All courses in the program curriculum are conducted in English.

• Industrial Product Design provides you with training in the scope of learning theoretical possibilities for the use of materials and production management equipment.
• The training received in this field allows you to gain effective and creative design skills in addition to learning technical knowledge. In addition, you are also provided with some issues that are seen as a plus by employers in the sector. Your presentation skills improve with each project you take part in.
• You are provided with better relationships with the other party. There are characteristics that need to be developed while still a student. Developing communication skills, being responsible in teamwork as well as individual work, entrepreneurship, being able to effectively apply problem-solving techniques, developing visual perception skills, being able to effectively use computer-aided design programs are some of the mentioned characteristics.
• Individuals who graduate from Industrial Product Design are responsible for the creation of objects used on a daily basis. For this reason, there are many areas where you can find work as an industrial designer.
• The industrial design profession, which is closely related to fields such as design and engineering, creative arts, etc., has widespread job opportunities in the domestic and industrial product sector, design-based consultancy, automotive sector and freelance areas.
• In this context, industrial designers have employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors.
• Job opportunities in the private sector include products produced for the industrial and local market.
• Job opportunities in the public sector, on the other hand, have a wide range of activities from the design of information points in public areas to the design of equipment for fire departments and police departments.
