The aim of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, within the framework of the objectives of Turkish higher education, the structure and historical development of Turkish language and literature, the works and authors of works in Turkish, the periods of Turkish literature before Islam, after Islam, under the influence of the West and after the proclamation of the Republic, the genres, the form and content characteristics of the works, Turkish; To train contemporary language and literature researchers/teachers who can comprehend the form and meaning features of Turkish, the cultural, political and social sources of Turkish literature, compare the features of Turkish language and literature with the features of other languages and literatures, learn and use research, analysis and comparison methods, reflect all these achievements with a creative thought between national culture and universal culture, follow the developments of the age closely, open to innovations, benefit from technology in research and teaching activities, establish relations with other disciplines, adhere to the principles of scientific ethics and the national and moral values of the Republic of Turkey.

Education and training are carried out in the form of formal education.

• Based on the qualifications gained in the field of Turkish Language and Literature, it has advanced theoretical and practical knowledge supported by course materials containing up-to-date information, applied tools and materials, research methods and techniques applied in field studies and other sources.
• Uses advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
• Uses, analyzes and applies the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the field of Turkish Language and Literature in the fields of education, research and community service.
• To be able to work independently or take responsibility as a team member to solve complex and unforeseen problems encountered in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
• Plans activities for the development of employees under his/her responsibility in the related field.
• Plans personal and organizational development by using knowledge and skills in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
• Evaluates the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of Turkish Language and Literature with a critical approach.
• Determines the learning needs of the employees under his/her responsibility and manages the learning processes.
• Develops a positive attitude towards lifelong learning

It is conducted in accordance with the conditions specified in the Trakya University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation.
The evaluation of exam results and the success grade are determined as shown below:

a) Exams are evaluated out of a full score of 100. The semester/year end grade of a course is the sum of 30% of the arithmetic average of the midterm exam or midterm exams, 20% in distance education programs and 70% of the grade received in the midterm/year end exam, and 80% in distance education programs. However, the semester/year end grade of a course can also be calculated as 30% to 70% of the arithmetic average of the midterm exam or midterm exams, 70% to 30% of the grade received in the midterm/year end exam, provided that a decision is made by the relevant faculty/college board and announced at the beginning of the semester, and the sum of the rates will be 100%. If the first number after the decimal point is less than 5 as a result of the calculation, a to the lower integer, and if it is 5 or higher, to the upper integer and finalized.

b) (Amended: RG-1/9/2019-30875) The final grade is calculated by applying the absolute evaluation method or the relative evaluation method, based on the grades determined in clause (a), with the decision of the Faculty/College Board and the approval of the Senate. The application principles of the relative evaluation method are determined by the Senate. In the absolute evaluation method, the letter grade determined according to the table in clause (c) by taking into account the semester/year-end grade calculated according to clause (a) is accepted as the success grade. The table and principles in clause (c) are applied for the letter grades, coefficients and success statuses obtained using the relative evaluation method and the absolute evaluation method.

c) (Amended:OG-16/6/2016-29744) The coefficients of letter grades in the relative and absolute evaluation methods are determined according to the table below:

The last grade received from the repeated courses is included in the general grade point average. All grades are transferred to the student's transcript.

(Amended paragraph: RG-16/6/2016-29744) In order to be considered successful in a course, the success grade must be at least CC. However, students with a general grade point average (GPA) of CB (2.50) and above are also considered successful with a success grade of DD and the success grade is recorded on the transcript as DB with a coefficient of 1.50. In courses where homework and practices gain importance, the extent to which these studies will affect the midterm exam grade, how the semester or yearly success grade will be determined in laboratory and project courses that are lecture-like, and the rate of impact on the success grade are determined and announced by the relevant faculty or college board. In courses where unlimited exam rights are granted and where the right to take the semester-end exam has been gained before, the success grade is determined only by the semester/year-end exam grade, without considering the results of the work and midterm exams in the previous semester. The results of single-course exams and additional exams are accepted and evaluated as success grades.

In addition, the following letter grades are also used in the transcript:

1) DZ (non-attendance) grade is given for credit courses where the course registration is made but the attendance requirement is not met and is evaluated as an FF grade and included in the averages.

2) BL (successful) grade is given to students who are successful in non-credit courses that are not included in the average.

3) BZ (unsuccessful) grade is given to students who are unsuccessful or absent from non-credit courses that are not included in the average.

 In order to monitor the quality of higher education programs;

• YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.

• “University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. The reports prepared according to these reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

• “Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report” containing academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions is published every year by YÖK. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. The quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is provided according to the “Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs”:

1. Creation and Approval of Curriculum: The minimum standards and The criteria are determined by the Council of Higher Education.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to students are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on these issues.

1.2. The curriculum of the National Core Education Programs is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education after being approved by the relevant Deans' Council.

2. Measurement-Evaluation: How the measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes that each undergraduate program will provide to students will be carried out is carried out according to the education and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs receive a bachelor's degree if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by the higher education institutions.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the “Internal Institutional Evaluation Reports” of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the “Institutional Feedback Report” prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation institutions authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also show that the quality assurance of the program qualifications is provided. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with its legislation.

Student admission to the programs is determined by the central undergraduate placement exams conducted by ÖSYM. Again, the program application conditions specified in the ÖSYM Guide are valid. In our programs with compulsory preparatory classes, the regulations of our university's School of Foreign Languages Preparatory Classes are valid and exemption exams are held at the beginning of the academic year. Those who pass this exam and those who have enough points from exams equivalent to this exam are exempt from preparatory classes. In terms of student admission to the undergraduate program, the undergraduate education and training regulations of our university are also valid.

Graduates can become teachers in primary and secondary education by fulfilling the other conditions stipulated by the Ministry of National Education. They can also work as lecturers in universities by studying postgraduate education. In addition to all these, they can work in libraries, archives, ministries and institutions related to the field. Graduates with special skills can also work at different levels in various publishing organizations.
